Poor neglected website!

Okay, it's been forever since I've posted here... I won't try to recap, except to say that the sequel to A Scottish Ferry Tale, Scotland by Starlight, has been out for nearly a year, and both books are selling well!

Right now I'm on tour with Scotland by Starlight, thanks to the ever-so-capable Sam over at CLP Blog Tours!

Sequel sneak-peek, and proceeds to a good cause!

I have posted an excerpt from the Ferry Tale sequel on Goodreads - didn't want to post it here because it does contain spoilers!

During July, August and September, all profits (which honestly, ain't much, but every little bit helps!) will be going to Girls on the Run Vermont, an organization for which I've volunteered. They do great things - check out their website, if you're so inclined, or watch a video of their 2010 Northern Vermont 5K, which included thousands of grade-school girls running their hearts out!

A Scottish Ferry Tale appears on the Saint Louis University Library's list of recommended gift books for 2009!

I'm working on getting copies into more local libraries... if you happen to own the book and don't want to hang onto it, consider passing it on to your library!

Better than ever!

I updated a "fixed" version of the book over the weekend...it's now 8 pages longer, but I took out some deadwood text. I also fixed typos, fully justified the text and increased the leading (the space between lines) to make it easier to read.

Continue to get positive feedback...I'm hoping that translates into book sales, or at least people sharing the book. I care much more about getting my name out there (preferably associated with "woman who wrote an excellent, funny novel") than I do about royalties....the royalties are just not all that.

So if you've read the book and liked it, please:

1) Review it on Amazon!

2) Pass it on to someone else!

3) Encourage other people to buy it!

4) Give away copies as gifts!

Then I promise I'll stop with the numbered, exclamatory lists.

Kindled

The book is now available on Kindle! So far the paper edition doesn't acknowledge that there is a Kindle edition, but I'm hoping this resolves itself in a few days.

Ferry Tale celebrates a month of publishing!

June 22, 2009 is an important date for me....on that day, A Scottish Ferry Tale first became available in published form. Holding my own book in my hands is something I've thought about since childhood... and the event did NOT exceed the anticipation. Actually, when the first proof copy came, and I opened it and saw all the words I'd written so many months ago.... I screamed. Like a girl. My husband thought something was wrong.

In later entries I'll talk more about the process of writing and publishing it, as well as the novels that are currently under way in my head and on my trusty Mac. Thanks for visiting!
